Tela Moss came to Compass Light in October 2018 from her hometown of Boulder, CO, where she received a BFA in Film. In Boulder, Tela was an intern at ROAM Media by day and a cocktail bartender by night. But something drew Tela to Maine, almost like a ship to a lighthouse, and despite having never visited our coastal state, she made the move in June 2018. After a stint at a restaurant in Bar Harbor, Tela joined the CL family as an Associate Producer. Here, she’s helped produce films in the ReelEarth collection and the Local Perspectives series, thriving on the opportunity to connect with and support storytelling by local filmmakers. The tales of human interaction and strands of life keep Tela driven to continue this work. She’s an avid long-distance hiker and frequenter of the PCT, but also loves to relax on her porch with her dog, Aspen, and a guitar. Tela is also the youngest theater manager in Sundance Film Festival history, demonstrating Tela’s lifelong passion for building human connection around narratives.
