Passage - EARLY EXPEDITION
1990, 57 minutes
Norwegian sailor and writer Arne Brun Lie begins a two-person transatlantic race with filmmaker David Conover. As they cross the treacherous North Atlantic, they confront a Force 9 gale, the loss of a steering system, and a final reckoning no one anticipated. Through flashbacks to Arne's visit to Norway and Germany and the places of his political imprisonment during World War II, this film offers a compelling glimpse of a concentration camp survivor, of his recollections and resilient spirit, washed over and over by time and luck, by the wind, by the waves of the North Atlantic. "An important personal statement... a deeply moving film." Elie Wiesel, Author & Nobel Peace Prize Recipient. For the New FIlm Company, Inc. to purchase from them, click here
